ByeType is a voice input tool that sends raw audio to a multimodal large language model instead of transcribing text first. Transcription rules, vocabulary and output formatting are written as Markdown prompt files, so names, technical terms, number formats and filler words are handled during transcription. It also extracts text from a screen selection and repairs line breaks and layout artefacts. The application is free and open source and runs on Windows and macOS with the user’s own API key.
