Handy is a push-to-talk desktop speech-to-text application that inserts transcribed speech directly into the active text field via a keyboard shortcut. It runs entirely offline, uses Silero VAD for silence removal, supports Whisper or Parakeet models for transcription, and leverages GPU acceleration when available. The project is open source, minimal, extensible, and works across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
